Welcome to Pitești Prison Memorial, a memorial museum located inside the former Pitești Prison, active between 1941-1977.

 

Pitești Prison is infamous worldwide for being the site where Pitești Phenomenon took place. This was a form of continuous physical and psychological torture applied to anti-communist students between 1949-1951.
